Ridgefield has a Council/Manager form of government. City Council members choose one of their members to be Mayor until the next Council election. Gladys Doriot was chosen Mayor. Council member David Standal was chosen as Mayor pro-tem.

The City Manager is appointed by the City Council. Ridgefield's Interim City Manager/Public Works Director is Justin Clary.

The City Council meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, and the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of November & December. The meeting begins at 6:30 PM, in City Hall. Citizen comments are encouraged at every meeting.

Planning Commission: 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month, 6:30 PM
Parks Board: 3rd Tuesday of each month, 7:00 PM
Civil Service: 2nd Tuesday of each month, 7:00 PM
